Secretary of Labor Lewis B. Schwellenbach died at Walter Reed Army Hospital at 53 from heart failure. Mr. Saunders cites enough cash to begin three cottages with a plan for a fourth and fifth as a drive nears its $300 000 goal. The project will house current residents and relieve crowding at the old home while architects Rittenberry and Rittenberry design the cottages and an administration building on a 9 10 acre site near Thirty-fourth and Bowie. Donations total $73 065 in cash with many material gifts, and new contributors are listed alongside earlier acknowledgments.
