The west Texas Model Airplane Contest will be staged at Thirty Fourth and Bowie in Amarillo this weekend. Sponsored by Kidwell Model Shop, the event opens at 1 p.m. Saturday and runs through Sunday with free spectator admission. Mr. Kidwell offers parts and supplies as entrants compete in a hobby popular with both young and old. Nearly 100 entries have been received from within 200 miles.
Sid's Garage and Wrecker service promises quick aid with two wreckers a 2 ton and a 1 3 ton, oilfield winches, and accessories. Notable feat includes lifting a 4900 gallon gasoline load from a ditch after a rollover on a slick road near Dawn last Wednesday. Sid also markets Lone Star all aluminum boats and auto safety work from carburetor tweaks to full overhauls.
The laboratory at 512 Polk, three doors north of White and Kirk, has been remodeled into a modern sick room supply and prescription store. Owned by Bill McClendon, the store offers prescription service, drugs, vitamins, surgical garments, trusses, elastic hose, knee caps, anklets, sick room supplies, diabetic foods, and rental items like wheelchairs and bedpans. Open daily 8:30 to 9 except Sunday hours listed as 10 AM.

Mrs Wyatt at 1500 Jefferson returns from a trip with a varied collection of rare old brass items from early American English French and Russian origins. The display includes burnished lacquered table lamps, gilt glass lamps with shades, Gone With the Wind style lamps, double brass angle lamps, plus brackets.
