Chicago market shows cattle 12,000, calves 800, steers weak 10-25c, top 17.35, heifers 17.00 lower, cows scarce. Sheep 2,000 with lambs steady to higher. pelts noted. U S Marshal Bill Lampe returned from Oklahoma bringing Marvin A. Yoder to be tried in U S Federal Court next week on postal regulation violation. Yoder was brought from El Reno where he is serving a sentence.
U S District Judge James C Wilson will oversee early criminal trials as Leonard McRea and Marvin Just face charges. McRea arrives from Leavenworth and will be tried alongside Yoder’s associates, while Just was taken to Oklahoma City on an OPA violation charge.
In continued operations, Yugoslav Partisans seized Grahovo in Western Bosnia after heavy fighting that inflicted heavy German losses. Eastern Bosnia saw captures of Srebrenica and nearby localities as Partisan units push to clear enemy forces.
