Two Weeks Among Hostile Indians and Alligators
Lieut Ray Riseden and eight men spent two weeks in the Panamanian jungle searching for a lost army flier. They faced unfriendly Indians, storms, malarial mosquitoes, ticks, sandflies, and alligators while fording rivers and living on sparse rations. They found wreckage of a cayuco but no survivor, and a return by boat failed when engines quit leaving them adrift on rubber rafts.
