Two Pistols Found After Chipps Slaying In Fort Worth

Fort Worth July 27 Two pistols a revolver and an automatic were found by officers at the scene after D B Chipps was fatally wounded by Rev Frank Norris. Nine witnesses testified this morning in the grand jury room. Officials declined to explain the pistol finding or its location. J J Mickle church public relations director was the last witness.

School bond issue eyed by board to fund high school expansion

The board plans to set a date tonight for a 250000 dollar bond issue to finish the senior high school and build a four room north Barnes Highlands building for students north of the city. The plan includes auditorium gymnasium cafeteria and new classrooms as part of a 500000 dollar project. New teacher appointments and a one room East Amarillo school addition contract are also on the agenda.

Moody poised to be Texas governor nominee after Ferguson withdrawal

Dallas July 27 Texas experts say Attorney General Dan Moody will win the Democratic gubernatorial nomination even without a majority. Ferguson's withdrawal from a runoff leaves Moody unopposed, with official returns showing Moody ahead but short of a majority by about 3,336 in a 758,005 vote total. The state executive committee meets August 9 to canvass and certify the results.
