Pioneer Blacksmith Carves Andirons for Adobe Walls Fort
J G Ridings, a plains blacksmith, spent nearly a year crafting steel and iron andirons for the Adobe Walls fort on the Whittenburg ranch. The 32 inch high pieces feature horse shoe bases, a rattle snake pot hook, and art panels with Billy Dixon and Quanah Parker likenesses. The work was all done by hand with basic tools and will stay at the Whittenburg home until the fort is rebuilt.
