1946 champion J H Thompson of Dallas returns to the Amarillo Horse Show August 1 to 3 to defend his grand champion walking horse stake with Me O My. The blue ribbon and silver platter were awarded last year by Miss Elizabeth Allen, daughter of Mr and Mrs Harve Allen of 2405 Hughes.
About 12:15 this morning three people sustained minor injuries when two cars collided head on near the Mayfair Club on North Fast Eighth. J Morris Umberger and Donald Simmons with Calvin Koger suffered facial cuts and were treated. others were shaken.

Final deadline for cowboys to enter reigning classes at the Amarillo Horse Show. Mrs. Vera Walker says entries close today with printers set to receive the complete program tomorrow. Prizes total 200 dollars with nine awards including a colt Denmark Harmon's Lad, a bicycle, saddle and more. The show Aug 13 at Tri-State Fair grounds benefits the Amarillo Crippled Children's Council. Tickets sold by Amarillo Lions Club with office at 215 Polk.
City chemist Jack Wyatt says the DDT fogger harms only harmful insects and will spray in alleys per a district schedule made public. Park superintendent Mark Miles notes residential fogging starts next week and all parks have been disinfected without harm to trees or shrubs.
