Sweden has sent its lone female Olympic team member Ingeborg Stoquist to the games. The American screen has noted her as a fine diver from Sweden who arrived in New York en route to Los Angeles.
Mayor Rogers and the city commission authorize immediate employment of 100 men through the Community Chest to weed parkways and private property. Crews of 100 rotate every three days with 25 workers from each city quadrant. Apply through the Chest at Salvation Army hall. Work eight hours a day at 25 cents an hour until all city property is cleared.
W G Krauss president of India Tire and Rubber Company announces a plan to restore 20 percent wage cuts from last January. The plan adds to wage checks in the final six months of the fiscal year to recover lost pay for about 400 factory workers and 50 office staff.
Partly cloudy tonight and Thursday with possible showers. Cooler Thursday. Panhandle and southeast Texas regions show temperatures from 68 to 89 for today. Forecast covers Amarillo and Far West Texas with cooler conditions arriving Thursday.

On July 20 1932 police repulsed two insurgent attempts by the Bonus Army to approach the White House. Leaders Pace and Johnson were arrested for leading crowds through police lines. the area around the executive mansion was cordoned as troops displayed weapons and tear gas. The incident drew hundreds as Smedley Butler urged persistence while guards secured the camp a half mile away.
The county clerk reported 637 absentee ballots on hand after voting closed, with deputies estimating about 60 more in the mail, expecting a final total near 700. This eclipses prior records by hundreds, the next highest absentee count being 180 votes.

He ruled the court lacked jurisdiction though he cited Nixon vs Condon and upheld the secretary's dismissal on all pleadings except the injunction.

Dallas July 20 The decision handed down yesterday in Sherman by the federal court makes probation unquestionable in Texas, Railroad Commissioner Ernest Thompson said in a statement. He added he is delighted to see probation upheld and that it will strengthen the commission with federal court backing.

A crowd of about 300 destitute unemployed tried to storm a South Side relief station today. Police reserves dispersed the mob after windows were shattered and relief workers’ cars had their tops scratched and torn.
