Francis Slater of Westminster California was robbed at gunpoint by two men in the 4100 block West Sixth Highway hitching hut. They bound and gagged him, took $2, and fled. Slater freed himself and sought help as neighbors searched unsuccessfully. The weapon wielder was about 6 feet tall, slender, 140 pounds with an eyebrow mustache, both men carrying suitcases. Slater later continued toward California.

A new well did not boost supply. a faulty pump bearing required replacement parts from Amarillo Metal Products, with hopes to install the pump tonight.
