Fort Worth cattle sales total 7600 head with 1500 calves. prices range calves 2.30 to 6.00, cattle 4 to 8, stockers 3 to 5.50, cows 2.75 to 4.25, heifers 3.50 to 7.50, yearlings 4 to 8, bulls 2 to 4. Hogs 1000 head higher, top 7.80, sows 7.50 to 7.75. Sheep 800 steady, lambs 8 to 12, feeders 6.50 to 8, yearlings 7 to 9, wethers 6.50 to 7.25, ewes 5.50 to 8. Stockers 3 to 4.50.
Wichita Kansas July market receipts show hogs 700 head steady at top 7.50 with most 7.36 to 7.45 and top cut outs 6.25. Cattle receipts 400 with 100 calves. beef steers 6 to 7, heifers 3.50 to 6.50, cows 2.50 to 5.25, bulls 2.76 to 4, veal calves 8, stockers 2.75 to 6.50, stock cows 2.50 to 4. Dry and mixed lots shown across classes. market generally steady.
Chicago hogs reported 23 000 head with higher prices topping at 7.85 per cwt for top weights. Cattle 19 000 head showed declines with yearlings at 9.00 9.15 and vealers 10.50 and up. Sheep 9 000 head moved slowly with fat natives 14.75 15.00 and range lambs 12.00 to 15.00.
East St. Louis reports higher cattle and sheep prices with cows and calves steady. Prime heavies reach 8.05 per hundredweight while hogs move at 7.90 to 8.50, packer sows 6.75, native lambs 13.50 to 13.75, and other animal classes show varied gains.

Amarillo Grain lists prices from the Great West Mill and Elevator company for local farmers. Wheat basis No 1 hard at 1.00 per unit, maize per 100 pounds at 1.30, and other entries show inconsistent text but indicate commodity pricing by the mill for grain deliveries in the region.
The Texas Candy shop secures a five year lease on the Polk street building from W. J. Blackwell and plans remodeling including partitioning and new plumbing fixtures. The 706 Taylor street site has been rated 100 percent by city inspectors over the past three years. Workmen are busy updating the Polk location for occupancy.
Kansas City market results show cattle at 9 000 with calves 2 000, top yearlings 10.25, fed cattle 7.50 to 9.50, hogs 18 000 steady with top 7.60 and most 7.20 to 7.50, sows 6.70 to 6.80, sheep 4 000 higher with native lambs 13.25 to 14 and fed yearlings 11.00.
Cooper Irvin Motor company marked five years of rapid growth from a one man operation to fifty employees serving a 100 mile radius from Amarillo. A banquet at the Country club honored workers and spouses with Walter Irvin and H F P Kuhlman giving welcomes and thanks. Tolzein's orchestra provided music as the firm presented Mr. Irvin with sixty one dollar bills for new subscribers to the Dearborn Independent.
Herring Locke, Locke's road maps maker, says western roads are in better shape than ever and predicts a record flow of travel to California in late summer and early fall. He notes rising inquiries by auto clubs about road conditions. Harl Fuqua returns from Floyd County reporting farmers’ crops in excellent condition and a satisfactory year.
Here yesterday Mrs. Arthur Cross of Canyon is noted along with W. L. Thompson of Abilene visiting on business today in the local arrivals column.
An inquest into the killing of Hobart in Amarillo revealed a brutal, planned attack with five shots fired at close range. Witnesses described a car scene near the stadium, muffled gunfire, and the lack of chance for Hobart to defend himself. Mrs Hobart, questioned and later jailed, spoke of her husband’s drinking and travel as a traveling salesman for Helmers Manufacturing in Kansas City and Plainview.
Mrs Hobart appeared untroubled by her husband’s absence on Monday and Tuesday at the Tourist Inn where the Hobarts stayed. The hostess noted he often disappeared for a few days after drinking, and Mrs Hobart had grown accustomed to such absences. Yesterday morning Mrs Hobart was involved in further discussion surrounding the situation.
