Rainfall Fails to Lift Lake Level Near Amarillo
Light rain around the Palo Duro water plant, 20 miles southwest of Amarillo, did not raise the lake level by noon. The lake had gained six feet last Friday after heavy rains since Thursday and had not risen since. N. V. Moss, superintendent of the municipal water department, said the rain was not enough to affect the level. The Word ranch site houses the Palo Duro water plant and 10 city wells.
