Mrs. C. R. Webb was honored with a gift shower hosted at Mrs. Jo Adersons home on Front Street. Attendees included numerous local ladies and gentlemen with gifts sent by many friends and neighbors.
Week long schedule lists events at the YWCA including Ellwood Park picnics and swimming classes at Gem Lake and times for Co-Ed Club activities at Ellwood Park and Thompson Park plus teen tennis sessions and Jam Jar dances throughout the week.

Maid of honor was Betty Louise Hitt and Oly Ray Hitt served as best man. The couple to reside at 2218 Taylor Amarillo after a brief wedding trip.
Miss Maxine Cartwright of Dallas married James Waits of Dallas in a July ceremony read in the Ross Street Methodist Church parlor. The couple resides at 830 Bavlock, Dallas, announced by Mr. and Mrs. Earl King, $927 Rusk.
Tonight and Tuesday feature multiple community gatherings across Amarillo and Joliet venues. Epsilon Sigma Alpha at Federation Club Rooms and Ladies Auxiliary events start at 8. YWCA teen tennis at Ellwood Park begins at 9. Luncheon at First Baptist Martha Class at noon. Rebekah and Eastern Star chapters host meetings at various halls, with picnics and open houses through the evening.
Potter County 4-H girls met in Room 104 at the courthouse for a canning tomatoes and tomato juice demonstration. Miss Pauline Lakey led the lesson with Miss Dorothy Butterfield presiding. a tentative July 24 dress revue date was set. Etta Louise Benge was named club delegate to the district event.
The Martha class at First Baptist Church will meet tomorrow at noon for a luncheon. The nursery will open to supervise and care for young children during the event.
