State wins land bonus case against Shell Petroleum
District Judge C. A. Wheeler awarded $81,734 to the state in a suit over oil and gas lease bonuses and rentals on school lands. The ruling adds to the public school fund, which stood at $329,151 as of June 30. The case covered about 75 leases in 20 counties. New York July 12 The New York cotton exchange service reports U S cotton mills used about 690000 bales of raw cotton in June the highest on record. May figure was 621000 and June 323000 for 1932. since March operations rose about 45 percent while typical June decline is about 11 percent.
