Calahan boasted that brands were learned by experience not books and also was known for singing cowboy songs.
July 12 report via Washington states modified regulations allow borrowers of crop production loans to apply for harvest expenses from wheat and rye sales at 4 cents per bushel and oats and barley at 2 cents per bushel. A Dallas man J. Chester, 24, shot himself in the chest at a crowded downtown Denver intersection. Bystander David Reed, also of Dallas, took him to a hospital where he was pronounced doomed. Chester and Reed were visiting Colorado during a mountain motor trip, with many witnesses.
A Sudan farmer, A. E. Russ, 60, living five miles south of here, was shot and critically wounded at his home by an unidentified man believed to intend robbery during the night. The incident is reported from Sudan on July 12.
Gov. R. S Sterling headed into South Texas for a re election rally in Schulenburg while Tom F Hunter from Wichita Falls, one of the big three GOP candidates, toured the Panhandle Plains area stumping for votes.

Three Talks Weekly former governor Ferguson adheres to a limit of three addresses per week with visits set for Brenham Houston and Yorktown as Dan Moody leads voluntary supporters for Sterling.
Two Amarillo novelty salesmen sleeping beside their car at Lake Worth were awakened by two armed men who robbed them of personal belongings. Glen Kendrick and Milton Barnes lost clothing and guns valued at 250 and 125 dollars respectively. Kendrick formerly lived on Fillmore Street and worked for Barfield Lumber. Barnes is said to be from Mangum Oklahoma.
The Panhandle Plains tour of Tom F. Hunter, candidate for governor, reached Amarillo en route to Plainview and Lubbock for speaking engagements. He travels more than 32 000 miles since March 26, has given 181 speeches, and dictates much of his work from behind the wheel.
