Amarillo Texas tonight the Defense Guard unit will undergo inspection at the high school armory. Major W H McClintock commander of the 41st battalion at Wichita Falls will conduct the inspection, Captain A Petersen commanding officer announced that the public is invited.

Byron Clancy of Carter Oklahoma defeated Harrison Smith of Oklahoma City one up in an extra hole to lead the Tri-State Senior Golfers Association championship at Amarillo Country Club. Amarillo Jaycees at a noon Capitol Hotel luncheon voted 100 percent for national defense. Every member present purchased defense saving stamps as an Americanism show. Postmaster W D DeGrassi spoke on defense bonds and stamps, introduced by Bert Levy. Bill Ferguson presided as new president.
J. M. Dendy, barber and beauty culture school operator in Amarillo, said his request for a license to operate his beauty culture school was pending in the courts.
