Paris Bridal Styles Favor Simple Elegant Gowns

ROSETTE HARGROVE outlines summer bridal fashion in Paris, stressing simple classic lines, quality fabrics, and flattering silhouettes. Designs adapt evening dress elements to individuals, with emphasis on pure lines, high necklines, draped bodices, and long sleeves, plus restrained headdresses. Fabrics favored include heavy white crepes, satin, chiffon, and net veils, while brocade and lame suit winter weddings. Jacques Heim’s pleated white chiffon gown with a fanlike train highlights August brides, showcasing waist emphasis and delicate lace details. Some brides carry prayer books or prayer books instead of flowers, and heirloom lace remains desirable when authentic.
