Mustang Fighters Headed for Korea
An undisclosed number of Mustang fighters assembled on the West Coast to join the Korea battle. They may sail with Marine units ferried to the Far East by the carrier Boxer. Mustangs offer greater range and maneuverability than the F 80s, enabling longer loiter over targets and effective low altitude bombing and rocket fire. The Air Force will keep Shooting Stars available in case unfriendly jets appear.
