Special to The Globe Pampa July 3 C S Kellerman tool dresser killed Tuesday afternoon when he fell from a tool box onto an oil rig engine wheel. His head was ripped open he died soon after. Kellerman had only five days on the job at the McConnell Oil Company lease in Carson County northwest of Pampa where he worked for West Drilling Company.
Hundreds from the Panhandle region arrive by car and train to attend the Tri-State rodeo at Texan Ball Park. The grand stand filled rapidly by 2 PM as the first performance opened. A second show is scheduled for tonight.
General admission to the rodeo is $1.00 while reserved seats cost $1.25 and box seats $1.50. All tickets include admission to the grounds.
Tomorrow and Friday feature noon and night performances with the night show at 8 15. An eleventh hour rush of over 75 performers entered the competition, delighting Tommy K irnan the world champion trick rider and roper, as organizers promise one of the greatest arrays of rodeo experts ever.

A sunken tar fire on the roof of the Santa Fe building in Amarillo challenged firefighters. With no water reach to the 14 story blaze, crews used chemical extinguishers carried up by elevator. Five tar barrels burned and roof sections were damaged before the fire was controlled fifteen minutes after the alarm.
Jerry B Briscoe superintendent of the Plains Division is named acting assistant general manager for the Southern district of the Western lines of the Santa Fe. F L Myers takes a temporary leave of absence. Cravens will return as Plains division superintendent at Amarillo. Myers plans a rest in New Mexico mountains this summer.
Fire rips through Mill Valley across the bay from San Francisco, hampered by water shortages and weak equipment.
