Consolidated balance sheet shows Amarillo city assets at 15.07 million with 14.36 million in capital assets and 9.24 million surplus. Bonded indebtedness stands at 4.316 million, plus current issues of 2.4 million approved in January.
The Associated Press reports nearly 5,000 service personnel to arrive today at two East Coast ports aboard 10 ships and over 3,700 troops debarking from 14 vessels at three Pacific Coast ports. German prisoners of war were sentenced by a Army court martial to life imprisonment at hard labor for the fatal beating of Hugo Kreus on December 17 1943 at Hearne Texas POW camp. Krauss a former New York City resident died six days after the assault.
