J D Allston of 814 Fairmont Steel was hurt when his car left the highway a mile south of Amarillo. A broken spring caused the loss of control and the car was found 300 yards in a field near Georgia Street. He was unconscious at the scene, later conscious at St Anthony's Hospital, with possible back injuries. He reported a $55 bill fold was lost at the scene.
Gordon K. Morrison of the Amarillo Better Business Bureau told the Optimist Club today that small racketeers drain the public. He cited two billion dollars yearly nationwide and $900,000 lost by Amarilloans in 1938. Grady Hazlewood presided as education week promotion was urged.
