The McKays identified Henry Ward Fred Ward and David Moore as the attackers.
Speaker Garner said emergency tax increase legislation can be repealed once the budget is balanced and the nation's income placed on a sound basis. He noted no need to cap how low the higher taxes may go and estimated excise taxes would bring in 450 million dollars of additional revenue.

A five minute quake was recorded on the seismograph at Regis College in Denver. Seismologist Father A. W. Forstall said the disturbance was probably very destructive and estimated the epicenter to be three to four thousand miles from Denver.
The Amarillo Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual banquet in the Crystal Ballroom at the Herring Hotel on Wednesday night February 10. Manager O V Vernon announced the definite date. Entertainment will include talent from Panhandle cities and a speaker is to be arranged.
Police report house prowlers Thursday night took about 400 dollars in loot from an Amarillo residence. At the homeowner request the amount was not published. Clues were obtained and investigation continues.
Illness of jurors forced postponement today of the murder trial of Winnie Ruth Judd in Phoenix Arizona. The trial recesses for a week with Monday set as the new start date.
James C. Stone of the Federal Farm Board told the American National Live Stock Association convention in San Antonio that cooperative agencies can solve marketing problems for live stock raisers. He noted cooperatives supported by shippers handling 20 to 50 percent of receipts can operate efficiently for far less than the fixed commissions charged by livestock exchanges.
Charles Herbert Henninger aged 27 of Goose Creek was found dead at his home with a bullet wound to the head. A small calibre pistol lay nearby. Justice J E Flowers ruled the death was due to pistol wounds personal safety related.
PORTLAND England January 29 The Admiralty said no living rescue of the 61 men and officers aboard the British submarine M 2 is possible though sea floor searches will continue. Divers found an old wreck and will move to a new search area where two submarine flags were previously recovered. Wives and relatives mourn at the docks as the announcement ends their hope.
The joint conference of railway labor leaders and rail presidents recessed without agreement on a 10 percent wage cut. Daniel Willard said the problem is not settled and that labor will respond to the proposal before a possible late day meeting with union groups.

Four U S destroyers of the Asiatic fleet sail from Manila toward Shanghai under forced draft. They join eleven other destroyers and submarines in the area as tensions rise over truce reports and Japanese actions in the Shanghai international settlement.
