Police say 16 year old Catherine Lawson a Galveston bride may have been spirited away by a white slaving gang after 72 hours of searching failed to find her in San Antonio. The girl was reported missing by her father Jack Diamond who said she vanished while on her honeymoon after being deserted by her husband for over ten days.
David I. Marshall a Philadelphia chiropractor confessed to dismembering Anna May Dietrich after she disappeared from his Seventeenth Street office. He claimed she took poison following a failed romance with a wealthy New York man and said he burned evidence and disposed of body parts at a nearby trestle.
