A 58 year old widow writes Dear Miss Dix asking for relief from constant grandchild care. She recalls five years of being the family babysitter while daughters and daughters in law treat her as a convenient convenience, with no recognition or time for herself.
The Amarillo Antique Club gathered at Mrs. L. P. Herndon’s home 1103 West Eighteenth for a morning coffee with co host Mrs. Larry Williams. Members heard reports from committee chairs and a program on soup tureens and Toby Jugs. The next meeting is Feb 17 at 9:45 in Mrs. C. A. James’s home 2409 Hughes.
Mrs. Robbie Dyer queen of Avihk Temple No 70 Daughters of the Nile with Mrs Sadie Bumpus junior queen and Mes dames Lena Galle Faye Clifton Fannie Bennett Londa Reville attended Rosetta Temple No 61 in El Paso for the official visit of supreme queen Norma Hobel of Rockford. Tomorrow at 8 pm Avihk Temple will meet in regular session at the Khiva Temple.

Mr and Mrs W T Huneke observed their 50th wedding anniversary at their home in Amarillo following a 1898 marriage in Clarksville Texas. The couple moved from Ponca City Oklahoma in 1925 and have four children two daughters in Denver and Ponca City plus two sons in Amarillo. They were joined by four grandchildren and one great grandchild at a family dinner.
Miss Virginia Alexander and Mrs J T Harris hosted a crystal shower at the Alexander home honoring Mrs William Spoontz formerly Billie Jo Lidia. Blue and white decorations featured the honoree colors and the serving table centered with white carnations. House party members wore white carnations as corsages.
At the Silver Service, Mrs Curtis Powers and Miss Pat Jackson assisted in the dining room as fifty guests called during the receiving hours.
Margaret Wills P T A met in regular session at the school auditorium. Pupils from Amarillo High School speech department led an open discussion as Sara Wescoat chair guided by Jim Tidwell Nancy Odom Bob Smith Tom Fotheringham Betty Coffee and Zuzela Rursevy assisted.
Ghizmeau Home Demonstration Club will meet tomorrow at 2 PM in the home of Mrs. Eugene Fennimore, 604 North Hayes. The gathering invites members to attend the afternoon session.
