Titan Moon Enveloped by Methane Atmosphere Surfaces Saturn Find
Confirmation that Saturn’s moon Titan possesses a dense atmosphere with methane and possibly ammonia may support theories on solar system origins. Dr. Gerald P. Kuiper of McDonald Observatory announced the discovery after spectrographic analysis, noting Titan’s atmosphere and very low temperatures. The finding, reported from Boston and Harvard Observatory, suggests Titan may reflect Saturn’s formation or satellite ejection.
