Bandit Gang Hit Gas Stations In Northeastern City

A major robbery spree unfolded as a blond gunman in his late twenties robbed two gas stations in one area. At Skelly Service Station 3301 North East Eighth he stole $87, at Cities Service Station 1011 North Fillmore $89. A separate burglary at Caskey's Service Station, 3207 North East Eighth, yielded pennies and minor items. Police described the suspect as 5'10", about 170 pounds, wearing a Halloween mask and Navy pea jacket, with a .38 pistol. Investigators noted similar descriptions across incidents and warned of a coordinated gang. Authorities labeled the day’s events among the largest cash and check robberies in history. The bandits fled north on Seminole in a waiting car after the first robbery.
