Tipton Found Dead in Hotel After Poignant Note
Walter A. Tipton a former automobile salesman aged years was found dead in the Kink Hotel room of H Wofford with a carbolic acid bottle by the bed and a suicide note in his coat. Wofford said Tipton warned him not to use a bottle and Tipton said he had taken poison. Tipton had recently been unemployed and planned to pawn a bag to travel to fields seeking work. His death is under coroner review by Judge C G Landis. He served eleven months in WWI at Camp Travis and lived in Amarillo most of his life. He leaves a widow, his mother Mrs A C Wright of Sherman, four brothers, two sisters, and a possible burial in Claude.
