Juanita Mendoza a young woman of mixed Spanish and Hawaiian descent died in the Main hotel on Fourth street from poison tablets dissolved in wood alcohol. An envelope with a Los Angeles address was found in her room but deemed insignificant. She had resided at the hotel since November. a hotel employee supplied the tablets. She left her room early in pain, a physician could not save her, and the body was moved to Blackburn's Funeral Home while relatives are sought.
A horned frog placed in the Eastland county courthouse cornerstone thirty years ago will be unsealed when the old building is vacated. A large crowd is expected to witness the relic’s removal and examination amid local tradition.

James Kirk, her alleged husband, faced arrest as investigators linked opium, fineries, and a police case of a fatal room death.
Dieudonne Cortes and Joseph Lebrix, French aviators, departed from France Field Panama Canal Zone at 6 52 am bound for Caracas Venezuela.
