Amarillo’s Modern Water System Could Serve 100000
Amarillo officials say the waterworks extension will loop the city with main lines enabling a 16 million gallon daily supply for a 100000 population. Inspectors from PWA and federal agencies oversee construction as two 10 inch lines and a 12 inch line form a city loop to Harrison and Ninth avenues. The old reservoir will be refurbished with asphalt sealed joints while a new underground reservoir nears completion and the looped system promises ample water during peak hours.
