William Bendix, noted film and radio star, is scheduled to visit the Veterans Hospital in Amarillo next Sunday as part of a USO Camp Shows Southwest tour. The arrival is announced by Roy E. Fury, VA special services director. Bendix will also visit Dallas, New Orleans, and Jackson Mississippi hospitals, traveling by air to fit between screen commitments.

Jim Bowen aged 38 was reported improving after a Friday morning auto crash in which his car struck a jeep driven by Wesley Speight at the Twenty fourth and Polk corner. Bowen suffered shoulder and hip injuries, and his car skidded then struck a parked vehicle owned by Harrol Brooks.

In 47th District Court today jurors were drawn for the Ray Dawson trial on statutory assault charges. Attorneys had objected to evidence on the insanity issue after Dawson was ruled insane in a lunacy hearing.
