A York County grand jury issued true bills against John H. Blymyer Wilbert G. Hess and John Curry in the Nelson D Rehmeyer murder and manslaughter case. All three were arraigned after the indictments with Blymyer pleading not guilty to the charges.

Asa Keyes, a 25 year veteran criminal prosecutor, stood trial in Los Angeles on bribery accusations linked to handling the Julian Petroleum collapse case. Co-defendants include former lieutenant Charles Reimer, two Julian defendants, and several others connected to an illicit clearing house. Keyes opposed by top Southern California defense lawyers and backed by a seasoned prosecution team.
Governor Dan Moody and wife welcome a son Dan Moody Jr with statewide congratulations flowing. Mrs Moody rests in hospital after the birth reported last night in Austin Texas.

An engineer died and a fireman and a baggageman were lightly hurt when Gulf Coast Division Missouri Pacific passenger train 14 struck a broken rail near Ricardo south of Kingsville Texas. Engineer A J Perrinot of Kingsville perished beneath the engine after a 1 1 6 hour late trip following a prior collision at Harlingen. Co H Cogdill and Baggageman Ezell were the other injured.
