The Texas Builders Supply company announced to open business January 20 with O. V. Vernon as manager and secretary of the Board of City Development resigning. The firm will be the first general builder supply distributor in northwest Texas with offices in the Amarillo Building and stocks stored in Amarillo. It will cover the Panhandle, Oklahoma, and New Mexico, carrying metal lath, brick, cement, roofing, and many other materials, with Roberts Olver Lumber and Vernon as organizers and stockholders.
A Canyon masseur and official Canyon High School football team doctor, Norman Brown, was found not guilty by a county court jury after a five minute deliberation. Defense was led by A. B. Martin of Plainview.
Chicago reported Evelyn Nesbit Thaw will recover from a self inflected poisoning after drinking a powerful disinfectant. She apologized saying she was intoxicated by gin beer and whisky when she attempted to end her life and that the drink would not be fatal.
Tyrus Clark, condemned to die for the Sulphur Springs bank murder, has filed for World War I adjusted compensation. His wife Mrs. Iona Clark of Catoosa, Oklahoma, is named beneficiary. Governor Terral refused to intervene, and no exceptions are allowed under the law. Clark served over a year in the army. The widow of the victim, Mrs. Lou M. Stout, had urged keeping the death sentence.
Mrs. D. W. Barnhill 46 disappeared Wednesday afternoon after leaving home at 1009 Johnson Street to go to the post office. WDAG will broadcast a description and authorities ask communities to aid in locating her as husband and police pursue all leads.

O V Vernon longtime secretary of Amarillo’s Board of City Development resigns to become part owner and manager of the Texas Builders Supply company, with Roberts and Olver forming the firm. He will serve advisory capacity for a year and no successor has been chosen. Vernon is a vice president of the Texas Commercial Executives and a director of the Texas Association of Fairs. he also served as secretary of the Tri-State Exposition last year.
Amarillo officials expect Dr. R M Walker to be elected full time city health officer at tonight's session. A proposed plan would create a city health officer and a foods and markets inspector, with the pair joining the city chemist and chief inspector in the municipal auditorium. Harve Avery may join as extra inspector, forming a health and inspection department to address neglected matters. The commission will also review police records. In Real county Texas a cowboy with a marriage proposal shot and killed 17 year old Maria Juarez last night after she refused him. He fled into the wild country as officers and ranchers track him.

Phoenix report states William A. Lawrence, an Oklahoma outlaw and slayer, must die at dawn Friday for killing Phoenix policeman Haze Burch. The state pardons board declined to intervene, ending his last chance at commutation. Lawrence denied the murder and asked for prayers from his executioners.
