In Bern Switzerland Jan 6 two physicists at the Radium Institute of Bern Dr Walter Minder and Dr Alice Leigh Smith announced a method to isolate chemical element 85 the last of the 92 primary components of matter to be identified They named the material Anglo Helvetium in honor of their countries Minder director and Smith pupil of Marie Curie have isolated enough to photograph and study further The element had been postulated by other scientists including in the United States where it was named Alabamine Minder previously said he obtained infinitesimal amounts of element 85 from radium in 1940

Moss Dies in Clovis Memorial Hospital

C. S. Moss, 78, longtime Curry County resident, died at 9 last night in Memorial Hospital Clovis. He is survived by his widow, four daughters and three sons, including sons T. H. Moss, W. B.
