8000 Godfathers for Triplets but No Diaper Washer

Mrs. Robert H. Glass and eight thousand eight hundred GI Godfathers welcomed their 7 month old identical triplets aboard the Queen Mary. The babies born in Louth England are part of the 82nd Airborne Division adoption moving the soldiers to support the family in Springfield Ohio. Father Robert Harold Glass is en route from France to join them. The division held a baptism on New Year’s Day aboard the ship, the first since the war began. Mrs. Glass humorously noted the lack of diaper washing help amid the large military support network.
