Hassell is improved from knife wounds he inflicted after murdering his wife and eight children while he remains reticent about California crimes in his confession.

Work is underway on a new Polk Street Methodist church in Aix featuring a 100 foot tower, 2500 seat auditorium, four stories of classrooms, and a banquet hall. Architect J Roy Smith of Amarillo aided by R H Hunt designed the Gothic style brick building. The 2000 member congregation led by Rev Lewis Stuckey is West Texas’ largest Methodist church.

L L Cochran a 24 year old Manhattan Construction worker was badly hurt when a heavy stone slab he was lifting slipped and struck him on a corner of the Rule building. He was rushed to Northwest Texas Hospital by Griggs ambulance and expected to recover.
