Robertson Immel, Potter County's oldest citizen at 102, died at midnight in his daughter Mrs. Liddie Sims' River Road home after a six week illness. Known as Uncle Bob, he farmed until age 92, recalled Lincoln days, and rode with his work mare Old Nellie. Born May 17, 1845 in Indiana, he moved to Salem as a boy, later West to Greer County.

Chief Justice James P Alexander of the State Supreme Court died in Austin at 64 from heart disease after a long illness. A Baylor Law School professor and former District Court judge he served seven years as chief justice. He was born April 21 1883 near Moody McLennan County and taught civil trial procedure at Baylor for two decades. Funeral plans were not yet set.
