Dr Schoch ideas draw attention at Texas gas hearing
UT Austin authority Dr E P Schoch outlined four proposals to guide Texas gas policy, aiming to boost demand, raise prices, industrialize using gas, and study wasteful outputs. He predicted income for gas owners could rise from 23 million to 100 million annually, with no pipeline investment loss and potential lower domestic gas prices. Legislative action may be needed to empower such changes.

Synthetic gas from coal under study at Pittsburgh lab
Government chemists in a small Pittsburgh building and a Bruceton pilot plant are producing gasoline from coal and natural gas for research. Dr. H. H. Storch says full commercial production is at least three to ten years away, with costs higher than natural fuel. The work aims to aid future war needs and inform industry, with limited civilian use and eventual sale to government or commercial buyers.
