Mesquite banker guilty of murder in Kimbell slaying
Dallas, Feb. 23. Mesquite banker and former mayor John Lawrence was found guilty of murdering Jack Kimbell on the Mesquite public square October 6. He received a fifty year prison sentence after a trial in which the jury rejected his plea of self defense stating he shot after fearing for his life. Lawrence showed no emotion as the verdict was announced and announced plans to appeal.
