Hauptmann seeks chance to cross examine Condon

In Trenton on February 21 Bruno Hauptmann asked to interview John Condon from his death cell. Attorney Fisher urged Condon’s return from Panama to answer four questions about trial testimony and possible accomplices. Negro Suspect Shot by Posse Near Blair Okla

A negro suspect in the attack on Mrs. Alice Wilson and her six year old daughter near Blair Oklahoma died of gunshot wounds while being rushed to an Altus hospital. Willie Jones, 32, was shot three times as he fled from tall grass four miles southeast of Blair. Sheriff Henry A. Savage rushed him to the car. undersheriff Ernest Hathaway said a posse of several hundred men first found him in a barn and wounded him fatally.

Redfern Fate Still Veiled in Brazilian Jungle Mystery

Georgetown British Guiana February 21 Art Williams, who taught Redfern to fly, says Redfern’s fate from the 1927 Brunswick Georgia to Rio flight remains a mystery. Woman Laborer Detected in Boston Snow Shovel Crew

Chauffeur Held for Murder in Rooming House Slaying

A 25 year old chauffeur named Fred Stettler was arrested on suspicion of murder in the bludgeoning deaths of Carl Barbour and his wife Dorothea at a Chicago area rooming house. Investigators said Stettler, a former lodger with technical knowledge of electricity, used an improvised time clock device to destroy clues and was found with an electric soldering iron and wire.
