Adjutant General William Sterling opened a state investigation into defiance reported to Gray county sheriff by bootleggers. Ranger Captain C. C. Moore attended. Moore had acted as Borger’s temporary sheriff under martial law. Sterling said no call for help was received and no state forces were dispatched.
