Miss Yohe was taken from a transcontinental bus at Union Pacific Stage Line request after she tried to jump from the vehicle believing gangsters seized it. She is held for examination.
In Vienna an army pilot used smoke writing over the city to protest the air patrol policy. On two days he formed messages read by bystanders, with some interpreting one as USSR initials. The piece highlights long rivalry between police and army over airspace policing.

The Senate approved a bill by 24 to 4 to raise district judge salaries from $4,000 to $5,000 annually. The measure, carried by Rep. George F. Howard and others, becomes effective only if Governor Allred signs it, with emergency clauses invoked by both chambers.
The Texas House of Representatives refused to recommend a successor to Orville S. Carpenter as state director of old age assistance. A resolution proposing Judge T. B. Darcy for the board of control to appoint was tabled.

Cedar, evergreen, flowers and trees were planted with some donations. Mrs Latney Barnes, committee chair, will receive donations. volunteers will call for them.
Arbitration set for February 23 in Callander to review Dr Allan Roy Dafoe billing North Himsworth Township Council $350 for medical health officer services in 1936 after the council reduced his salary from 70 to 40 per year. Dafoe has entered notice of appeal.
Berlin reports that Dorothy Thompson's book I saw Hitler was banned today by government decree. The action targets Thompson's critical portrayal of Adolf Hitler and his rise to power, reflecting Nazi censorship under the regime.
Reeve Ed ward McBeth said the township would not pay the bill. Dr Dafoe acted to establish a recognized standard value for the work performed by all township medical officers.
