Interstate Express Rates Cut 27 Percent Effective March 1
Amarillo shippers learned that interstate express charges drop 27 percent starting March 1. H B Carpenter of American Railway Express said the new rates are lower than parcel post for certain weights over long distances, with a table listing Kansas City St Joseph Brockton Philadelphia and other centers. The reduction aims to boost express shipments and speed up delivery compared with freight service.

France Faces Inability to Meet Debt Interest Payments
Paris February 14 Violette budget official virtually confessed France cannot meet annual interest on its huge debt now over one billion dollars. He warned that without relief from charges it will be impossible to draft a new budget, urging 1926 public expenditure cuts as the budget for 1925 already represents maximum taxpayer effort. A drop in the franc against the dollar increased anxiety.
