Piano Buying Guide From Local Columnist
Mr. R C Amarillo asks how a novice can tell a good piano. The columnist advises checking the maker name on the fallboard, verifying the company still produces quality instruments, and not judging by price alone. Inspect cabinet beauty versus construction, ask the salesman to move the piano away from the wall to examine back materials, workmanship, and soundboard, and consider tone in home trials. For technical questions, Dan J Conway of Meyert Piano Co will answer daily.
