600 Tax Suits to Be Filed by City Officials
About 600 delinquent tax suits are being filed by the city of Amarillo through P. F. Sapp for 1926 and prior years. Court costs can be avoided by delinquent payers visiting the city tax collector to settle taxes plus a 10 percent fine and 6 percent interest. Judgment has been in favor in roughly 100 cases and properties will go to sheriff sale on the first Tuesday in April. Nearly 100 additional suits for the Amarillo Independent School District are being heard, with the same April sale date expected if judgments are entered.
