Anglo French Pact Seen Aimed at Clipping War Planes
Washington February 13 High American military officials see the Anglo French air defense talks as a move to curb military air power in Europe. They warn modern bombers with longer ranges and heavier payloads could threaten virtually all of Europe, making nations dependent on aerial retaliation and undermining defenses. They note Soviet and U.S. interests, and cite ranges from 1,800 miles and two tons of bombs.
