Lee Bivins purchased 4 000 head of steel yearlings from the Cananea Cattle company of Sonora Mexico at 30 dollars per head. More than 120 000 will change hands in the deal. Cananea cattle are praised as among Mexico s best and nearly purebred Herefords.

Austin February 11 The House of Representatives unanimously adopted a resolution calling for an opinion from the attorney general on the legality of the Ferguson amnesty measure. The measure was introduced by Representative Dinkle of Greenville and had passed the Senate yesterday.
Detectives H.C. Heid and J.O. Joy were cleared of blame by Police Chief William Shreve over the shooting of two alleged car thieves, George Halester and Miller, who died en route to headquarters. A third suspect, William Leonard Thompson, was wounded but expected to recover.
J. L. Faubion was convicted on forgery and sentenced to five years in the penitentiary by a district court jury this morning. Faubion had a similar conviction last week, receiving three years. Three other indictments against him are pending. The charges arise from an alleged loan obtained from the Hammond-Whitting Mortgage Company.
Texas prison system auditor M L Bogle testified before a joint investigating committee alleging irregularities in the business department including bills paid up to three times. He described an assault on him by McAdams and Herring associates after he testified to the Walker county grand jury. Bogle tied the attacks to potential cover involvement as McAdams allegedly oversaw cattle and Ferguson farm affairs while Herring's family operated ranches and his hardware firm sold supplies to the prison system.

Archie Tyler was appointed as federal prohibition agent at Wichita Falls and will lead the prohibition forces in the northern district of Texas. He fills the vacancy created by the death of A. Turner of Fort Worth. The notice appears in Lallos dated February 11.
