Potter county grand jury returned two indictments charging Russell Park with murder in the New Year’s Day shooting at the St Charles apartment annex and assault with intent to murder Fred Calvert. Park remains jailed awaiting arraignment after the fatal attack that killed Mrs. Fred Calvert and seriously wounded Calvert.
The forecast for Amarillo and vicinity through Friday anticipates a fair night and increasing warmth. West Texas and Panhandle areas will stay fair and warmer with the Southwest portion cooler. Temperature highs reach 82 degrees in Amarillo while the low near 7 am drops to 20 degrees.

Vera Cruz dispatches report the port workers union issued a circular from the regional labor confederation calling for a boycott of all American products to protest U S oilmen and financiers toward Mexico and Nicaragua.
War department reports fifteen rebels killed and several prisoners captured in Querétaro and Guanajuato states. A substantial cache of rifles and ammunition was seized amid ongoing fighting.
An Exchange Telegraph dispatch reported 300 American marines landed in Shanghai. The message also said two battalions of British troops are expected tomorrow.
Maude Lee Mudd, 18, Oklahoma Indian heiress with a fortune, resumed travel with $4,000 cash and a new car after a yearlong disappearance. Guardian William Sims and banker J S Martin guarded her movements as she set out on a planned 2,000 mile tour though her exact destination remained unknown. Gordon, her estranged husband, and others offered no updates as she left Vinita aboard the vehicle.

Albany February 10 Governor Smith dismisses a Texas legislature invitation to address their lower house. He says he referred the item to the boxing commission and will not likely appear outside New York. McAdoo Ritchie and Senator Reed were also named as possible speakers.
Harold F McCormick of the Harvester family denies divorce rumors involving his wife Ganna Walska the Polish singer. He says he knows nothing about the divorce rumor and that there is nothing to it upon returning from New York. The Paris divorce is reported but denied by McCormick noting no knowledge of any such proceeding.
The New York American reports confirmation from friends about reparation rumors. Ganna Walska declined to discuss reports of separation from her husband Harold F. McCormick and a possible divorce while McCormick travels to Chicago to confer with Clarence Darrow.
The narrative describes separation and a final break between Mr. McCormick and Mme. Waleska with a financial settlement arranged in anticipation of divorce. McCormick left the liner Paris a year ago and cancelled passage, his wife sailing abroad to pursue opera and concert work. He followed two days later but later returned to the United States alone.
In New York on February 10, testimony resumed in the Daugherty Miller trial. Louis J. Bailey of Atlanta testified about finding Jess W. Smith in charge of Daugherty inaugural court in March 1921, illustrating the relationship between former Attorney General Harry M. Daugherty and his aide.
In Leningrad on February 10, three former czarist officials were executed by firing squad for alleged mistreatment of revolutionaries before 1927. The men were M. Arst, former Riga Central prison director, Loman, his assistant, and Kroomin, the hangman.
