Borden Produce Company has acquired the garage building at 74 Grant Street in a trade with Amarillo Investment Company. Paul Erquist, manager of the produce concern, reports the sale included the old Metager Dairy on North Fillmore Street and cash for one garage. Mis company plans to lease the garage after the contract is signed. FB Weymourth is president and EK Hill is secretary.

Funeral arrangements for Gene Clayton were not completed early today. He died Thursday in Albuquerque. his body arrived there this morning. Griggs and Sons, funeral directors, reported he had worked at McDonald Auto Supply Co for three months and was a member of Fundamentalist Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his wife three children his father H R Clayton and six sisters.
Reports from Houston say a plane carrying Jack Maddix of Galveston, Leon Kattache of Houston, and L T Happy Agnew of Houston crashed on Mustang Island near Corpus Christi. Maddix was killed instantly, Kattache was seriously injured, and Agnew escaped injury.
Denver Feb 5 A federal judge banned further placement of federal prisoners at the Colorado Industrial School for Boys in Golden after two inmates testified of lashings and spoiled food. Judge J Foster Symes called the institution unfit and ordered no more federal prisoners be confined there. The inmates, David Medlin and Lawrence Sassen, said they were beaten and fed deteriorated meals during a January escape attempt.
The Maharajah of Alwar delayed the Venice-Trieste express for 30 minutes by refusing pigskin seating, calling it impure. Police aided officials who removed seat coverings and replaced them with damask tapestries and carpets the Maharajah provided, as a cheering crowd watched the train depart.

W H Kimble a 35 year old Carson County farmer stockman was released from St Anthony's Hospital after a collision on the Oilfield Highway nine miles from Amarillo. He suffered cuts and abrasions to head and legs when his car demolished after striking a tank car behind the engine tender on a spur near Amarillo.

Mrs Dolly Strout a 15 year old wife and her infant son George born in Anderson report doing well. The baby is their second child after the first daughter died shortly after birth two years ago. Attending physician Dr S J Stottlemeyer provided the details.
