Prices range from 1 to 85 cents, cheaper than larger cities. Patrons are urged to buy early to avoid a last minute rush and reserve seats at the City Drug Store.
Vernon Tex Feb 3 Special to The Globe. Testimony aimed at strengthening the defense claim that Carl Hefner, already convicted, bore sole blame for Homer Crabtree's death near LeFors last November. Co defendant Hofer was convicted earlier at Pampa. Witnesses included Ollin Pierce and Archer Fullingim who described Hefner's jail interview and other prior charges.
Protests from Atlantic Coast representatives opposed to proposed foreign oil import limits were heard by the Senate commerce committee. Rep Nelson warned the rule would harm Atlantic seaboard industries and aid large oil firms over independents.

Helen Gould, former American heiress and widow of the fifth Baron Decies, died at dawn in a London nursing home after a three week illness. She was 99, survived by husband, a son and two daughters, and was renowned as a society hostess and granddaughter of Jay Gould. The New York ceremony in 1911 and her famed London receptions marked a high-profile life.
Process servers sought C C Julian in Los Angeles to serve papers in a divorce filed by Mary Olive Julian. He left his hotel after the filing and reportedly headed for Oklahoma City where he planned to drill a new well.
The FBI uniform crime reports place Amarillo eighteenth among Texas cities, with 32 offenses known to police last month and 27 in December. The December totals included one murder six robberies one aggravated assault five burglaries and six thefts.
Catherine Solt, 34, a trapeze artist with 12 years of partnership with her husband Carl Solt, fell 30 feet to the net during a Shrine circus matinee in Detroit. The accident occurred as 10 000 children watched. she died from a fractured skull after missing her husband’s grasp. They resided in Denver between engagements.
Captain Malcolm Campbell prepared for a record attempt on Daytona Beach using a 46 year old machine. Officials set up timing devices and a nine mile course with runs in opposite directions to determine average speed over two trials. If the combined average exceeds 231 mph, a new land speed record will be announced.
