The Senior Class of St Marys Academy will hold a Leap Year dance at Cathedral Hall 1110 Washington Street from 9 until midnight Saturday. The blue and lavender decorations set the theme. Public invited with a 25 cent per couple admission. high school and junior college students urged to attend with their dates.
Bond set at $1000 for Robert William Lusk and Mildred Mae Boyd, held in Potter County jail on federal Mann Act violation. Arrested by Sheriff Cal Rose at Pampa for investigation. charges filed here. They await transfer to federal custody at Gray County if bond fails.
John Winters, member of the county commissioners court, told the American Business Club that constitutional limits impede reforms and money saving efforts. He noted road and bridge fund restrictions prevent shifting money to cover deficits and urged public interest while stressing the court's attempts to ease burdens on the general fund. In Yreka California a horse wandered onto a highway colliding with Henry DeClark’s car. DeClark was hospitalized and his car needed repairs while the horse left on its own power. The county remains open range with no fence requirements due to a law from the 1880s.

Dorothy Mae Bell 41 wife of D B Bell died in a local hospital from pneumonia after several weeks illness. The body will be sent by Boxwell Brothers to Mineola for Sunday services and burial in the family plot at Golden. She was a Baptist Church member and came from Dallas seven months ago with residence at 1601 Buchanan Street. Survived by husband two sons Bernard R B Bell and Edwin A Bell and niece Mrs Julian Booker.
Dean J Anderson Fitzgerald, dean of the University of Texas School of Business, will guest speak at the final class of The Science of Selling and Personal Development extension course at the high school auditorium. He will discuss Analyzing the Needs of the Customer with Dr Fitzgerald followed by P Brewer outlining Rungs of the Ladder of Success. An extra session from 7 to 8 p.m. will review the Wednesday night material and allow those who missed that session to take the class test. the regular class starts at 8 p.m.
