Amarillo Men Held by U S Officers in New Mexico
Three Amarillo men Henry Chamberland Bob Walker and George Newsome were held in Tucumcari New Mexico on federal charges for an attempted bank burglary in Dumas Texas on January 17. Sheriff Logue reported a 1500 mile chase linking the trio to other crimes including December 12 burglary attempts and possible recovery of safety deposit boxes. Chamberland and Walker faced Potter County indictments for robbery. all three were arrested January 23 in connection with the slaying of Sheriff Moseley in Tulsa and were found with a stolen car and weapons.
